“Korona Virüs Riskine Karşı 14 Kural” Kamu Spotunun Eye-Tracking ile Analizi
Çin’in Wuhan kentinde 2019 yılının Aralık ayında ortaya çıkan Koronavirüs salgını kısa sürede yayılarak tüm dünyayı etkisi altına almıştır.
“14 Rules Against Corona Virus Risk” Public Spot Analysis by Eye-Tracking
A Coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, has spread around the world in a short time and has affected the entire world. More than 5 million people worldwide have been infected with the virus, while the number of deaths caused by the virus has exceeded 344 thousand. Since the spreading of the outbreak could not be prevented and it is not clear when it will end, countries have taken measures to prevent the spread. The first coronavirus case in Turkey was detected on March 10, and several applications have been made by the Ministry of Health of Turkey under the COVID-19 measures. Within the framework of these practices, the public service ad: “14 Rules Against Coronavirus Risk” has been prepared and published through various media platforms to inform all members of society and increase social awareness. When the domestic and international studies related to the Covid-19 outbreak were examined, it was determined that the studies were carried out in the field of economy, education, banking, tourism, and sports, especially in the health sector. As a result of the examination of studies, no experimental studies on the Covid-19 outbreak in the field of marketing were found. This study is the first experimental study in neuroscience and neuromarketing regarding public service ads prepared within the scope of COVID-19 outbreak measures. The purpose of this study is to measure the effects of the public service ad: “14 Rules Against Coronavirus Risk” prepared by the Ministry of health of Turkey under COVID-19 measures. For this purpose, the effect levels of the images containing the 14 rules prepared under COVID-19 measures were determined by using the Eye Tracking analysis method on the volunteer participants. The Eye Tracking analysis method shows where the volunteer participants focus when they look at the images of the ad, where they focus more, and the awareness effect of the images was obtained with a heat map. Sample survey of the study was determined by convenience sampling utilizing a total of 30 volunteer participants consisting of different ages and various professional groups (students, academics, civil servants, etc.). According to the heat map data obtained as a result of the research; the public service ad “14 Rules Against Coronavirus Risk” prepared by the Ministry of health of Turkey under COVID 19 measures have been seen to draw more attention to actor Taner Ölmez, as the reference power, who has been in the public service ad. On the other hand, it has been determined that there is little focus on informative texts in the ad. For this reason, it has been seen that the public service ad has a visual effect and creates awareness. Furthermore, it was determined as a result of the study that it is necessary to highlight informative texts rather than reference power to increase the level of impact of the public service ads.
