Bireyler yakın ilişki kurarak mutlu olmak, neslini devam ettirmek, çocuk sahibi olmak, cinsel arzularını tatmin etmek, toplumun taleplerini karşılamak gibi nedenlerle bir araya gelerek evlenmektedirler. Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, bireylerin evlilik hoşnutsuzluk düzeylerinin farklılaşmadığını incelemektir. Bu genel amaca ulaşmak için araştırma sürecinde aşağıdaki sorulara yanıt aranmıştır: Evli bireylerin evlilik hoşnutsuzluk puanları katılımcıların cinsiyetine, yaş gruplarına, öğrenim düzeylerine, evlenme sürelerine, çalışma durumlarına ve çocuklarının bakımında destek alma durumlarına göre anlamlı bir farklılık göstermekte midir?

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MARITAL DISAFFECTION AND SOCIODEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS

Marriage is a partnership based on mutual dependence between spouses. People come together and marry for several reasons such as establishing a close relationship to be happy, having children to continue their generation, satisfying their sexual desires and meeting the demands of the society. The main purpose of the study is to examine whether individuals’ levels of marital disaffection differ by a set of sociodemographic characteristics. To this end, answers were sought to the following question during the research process: Do marital disaffection scores of married individuals significantly differ by gender, age groups, level of education, time of marriage, working status, and support received for the care of children? The research population consists of married individuals residing in Canik, İlkadım ve Atakum that are the central districts of Province Samsun. 550 married individuals who were reached within this population and voluntary to participate in the study were interviewed. The Marital Disaffection Scale and Personal Information Form were administered to participants. SPSS Statistics 21.0 software was used for the data analysis. As the data did not show a normal distribution in the statistical analysis, the Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis Chisquare test that are nonparametric tests were utilized for the research findings. The study found no statistically significant difference between gender and marital dissatisfaction. However, there were statistically significant differences between the marital dissatisfaction scores and the variables of age, education level, time of marriage, working status and childcare
