Nucleolar organizer region distribution in Nannospalax ehrenbergi (Nehring, 1898) (Rodentia: Spalacidae) from Iraq

The distribution of nucleolar organizer regions (NORs) in Nannospalax ehrenbergi from Iraq was determined for the first time. In the karyotype of N. ehrenbergi the diploid number, fundamental number, and fundamental autosomal number were 52, 76, and 72, respectively. NORs occur in the telomeric regions of submetacentric and acrocentric autosome pairs.
