A newly recorded species in China, Ctenothrips niger Kudô (Thysanoptera: Thripidae), and the first description of its male

Ctenothrips niger Kudô, collected from Ailao Mountain, is a newly recorded species in China. Both males and females were collected. The male of the species is herein described and illustrated in detail for the first time.
