Preliminary contributions toward a revision of Greek Messor Forel, 1890 (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)

Based on recently collected material and study on type specimens Messor carpathous Menozzi, 1936 n. stat. and Messor concolor Santschi, 1927 n. stat. are raised to species rank and redescribed. Messor creticus sp. nov. is described as a new endemic species to Crete. Revised data for members of the Messor structor complexes are given and updated checklist of Greek Messor taxa is provided.
