Evaluation of Apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) Genetic Resources Collected from Southeast Anatolia Region

Twenty-two apricot types were identified during the expedition organized for collection, conservation and evaluation of the apricot genetic resources being under the risk of loss in Atatürk dam area in Southeast Anatolia. Scion samples were taken from those types and they were transferred into the experimental plots in Aegean Agricultural Research Institute. Yield, and phenological and pomological characters such as average fruit weight, attractiveness, solible solid content, meat/pit ratio, seed weight and aroma were evaluated.
