A- tipi kişilik ve stres ilişkilerinde üç önemli bileşen: Öfke, etkisiz başa çıkma ve iş saplantısı

Mevcut çalışmânm amacı A-Tipi kişiliğin stresle ilgili bileşenlerini kamu güvenliği alanında çalışan bir grup erkek personel (N = 454) üzerinde araştırmaktır. Araştırmada kullanılan ölçekler; Kurumsal Stres Faktörleri Ölçeği, Kısa Semptom Envanteri, A-Tipi Kişilik Ölçeği, Çok Boyutlu Öfke Ölçeği, Başa Çıkma Tarzları Ölçeği'dir. Sonuçlar A ve B-Tiplerinin öfke puanları bakımından farklılaştığını göstermektedir.

Three critical components in the type-A and stress relationship: Anger, ineffective coping, and obsession with work

The purpose of the current study is to investigate the components of Type-A personality, that are related to stress, with a group of Turkish male personnel (N= 454), working in the area of public security. The assessment instruments were; Institutional Stress Factors Scale, Brief Symptom Inventory, Type-A Personality Scale, Multidimensional Anger Scale, and Ways of Coping Scale. The results showed that, Type-A's and Type-B's differed among themselves according to their anger scores. The most significant difference in terms of the perceived stress factors and stress symptoms was found to be between Type-A's high in anger and Type-B's low in anger. Type-A's high in anger, had significantly higher perceived stress scores and reported to use significantly more ineffective coping styles (helpless and submissive approaches), compared the other groups. The regression analyses showed that the component of Type-A behavior that is predictive of perceived stress is obsession with work.
