Sanayi Toplumundan Bilgi Toplumuna Geçiş Sürecinde Temel Dinamikler

Sanayi Toplumu standart mal ve hizmetlerin kitlesel üretimine ve kitlesel dağıtımına dayanır. Şirketlerin amacı aynı malı çok miktarda ve rakiplerinden ucuza üreterek ve dağıtarak birim maliyeti düşürmektir. Kitlesel üretim ve kitlesel dağıtım merkezileşmeye dayalı bir ekonomik model; mekanistik, katı/hiyerarşik örgüt yapıları; ve geleneksel eğitim gerektirir. Şirketler “üret, depola, sat” mantığıyla hareket etmektedirler. Bilgi Toplumu ise daha karmaşık ve zengin bir toplumsal yapının göstergesidir. Şirketlerin amacı müşteriler için kitlesel olarak kişiselleştirilmiş mal ve hizmetler üretmeleridir. Müşteri, istediği kişiselleştirilmiş malı ya da hizmeti, istediği fiyata dünyanın neresinden olursa olsun sağlayabilmektedir. Robert B. Reich ’ın “Müthiş Düzen Çağı” olarak adlandırdığı Bilgi Toplumu, kişiselleştirmeye dayalı bir ekonomik model, dinamik ve düz bir örgütsel yapı, müşteri odaklı bir eğitim gerektirir. Şirketler “sat, üret, teslim et” mantığıyla hareket etmek zorundadırlar. Bu bildiride Sanayi Toplumundan Bilgi Toplumuna geçiş aşamasında gerçekleşen belli başlı değişimler ve Bilgi Toplumunun temel dinamikleri tartışılmaktadır.
