A STUDY OF THE RELAIBILITY AND VALIDITY OF ETHICS POSITION QUESTIONNAIRE

Forsyth’s (1980) Ethics Position Questionnaire (EPQ), which includes two subscales measuring idealism and relativism domains, has been extensively used from business to education context in cross-cultural and national studies across the world. In the present study, we investigated the reliability and validity of the EPQ based on 543 undergraduate students In order to assess construct validity of the questionnaire, the scale items were subjected to an explanatory factor analysis with principal component analysis. The results revealed two factors accounted for 51.07 % of the variance in the items. Internal consistency reliability measured via Cronbach’s coefficient alpha was found .90 for total 19 items, and .92 and .84 for idealism and relativism factors respectively. Over all, our findings report a satisfactory reliability and validity of the Turkish version of EPQ.
