Interview technique from qualitative research methods have been utilized to collect data. On April 05-21, 2017, data were obtained by using the semi-structured interview form with the 12 top managers of the 13 thermal hotel establishments that constitute the population of the research. The content analysis method was used to analyze the obtained data. The transcribed data were coded by using the information in literature within the direction of the research purpose and 23 statements (sub-themes) determined under three dimensions. The research indicate that managers are very conscious about environmental management practices and resources sustainability in tourism and they are the most important decision makers in the adoption of environmental management. The results exhibited that the determinants of the environmental management system and its applications in thermal hotels are composed of three factors, namely, (1) cost and efficiency, (2) internal dynamics and (3) external factors. It has been also specified that the most important applications within the scope of environmental management in thermal hotel enterprises are related to energy, waste and water management, and the biggest advantage in this regard is achieved as “cost saving”.
