Konaklama İşletmelerinde Sürdürülebilirlik Uygulamaları: Algılanan Engeller ve Teşvikler

Bu çalışmada, Evrensel Sürdürülebilir Turizm Konseyi kriterleri kapsamında hazırlanan anket formu ile Muğla ilinde faaliyet gösteren konaklama işletmelerinin ideal sürdürülebilirlik uygulamalarını yerine getirme eğilimlerini araştırmak amaçlanmıştır. Aynı zamanda; konaklama işletmelerinin sürdürülebilirlik uygulamalarını etkileyebilecek çeşitli teşvik ya da engel durumları incelenmiş, söz konusu bu değişkenlerin işletmelerin tutum ve davranışları arasındaki ilişkiyi nasıl değiştirdiği test edilmiştir. Sürdürülebilirlik uygulamalarına yönelik tutum ve davranışlar arasındaki ilişkinin ölçümünde basit korelasyon analizinden faydalanılmıştır. Teşvik ve engellerin etkilerini kontrol altına alarak yeniden ilişki incelemesi yapabilmek için ise kısmi korelasyon analizi kullanılmıştır. 204 otel yöneticisinden elde edilen veriler sonucunda; iş görenler ve istihdam politikaları ile ilgili sürdürülebilirlik uygulamalarının, işletmeler tarafından en sık hayata geçirilen hususlar olduğu dikkat çekmiştir. İlaveten, katılımcıların sürdürülebilirlik uygulamalarına yönelik tutumları ile davranışları arasında pozitif bir ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır. Algılanan “engeller” ve “teşvikler” değişkenlerinin, bu ilişki düzeyini farklılaştırdığı bulgusu ise önemli sonuçlardan birisidir. Buna göre; engeller değişkeni kontrol edildiğinde tutum ve uygulama arasındaki ilişkinin kuvveti artar. Diğer taraftan; algılanan teşviklerin etkisi arındırıldığında bu ilişki kısmen de olsa zayıflar.
