İZNİK ROMA TİYATROSU KAZILARINDA ELE GEÇEN BİR GRUP PLASTİK KANDİL KULPU

Günümüzdeki ismi İznik olan Nikaia Antik Kentinin korunan en önemli yapılarındanbiri Roma Dönemi’ne tarihlenen Tiyatrosudur. Bu yapıda yapılan kazılar sırasında uzun birtarih aralığına ait olan seramik buluntular ele geçmiştir. Bu seramik buluntular arasındakandiller önemli bir gruptur. Roma ve erken Bizans Dönemine tarihlendirilen bir grup kandilinplastik kulplara sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Bu makalenin konusunu bu plastik kulplaroluşturur. Temelde üç farklı grup altında incelenen plastik kulplar, bitkisel, haç motifli vefigürlü olarak ayrılmış, tipolojik ve kronolojik olarak incelenerek hangi bölgelerle ilişkilerininolduğu tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır.

IZNIK ROMAN THEATRE EXCAVATIONS A GROUP OF PLASTIC LAMP HANDLES

One of the most important preserved structures of the ancient city of Nicaea, which is now called İznik, is the Theater structure dated to the Roman Period.During the excavations carried out in this building, ceramic finds belonging to a long period were found.Among these ceramic finds, oil lamps are an important group.A group of oil lamps dated to the Roman and early Byzantine periods have plastic handles.The topic of this article is those plastic handles.Plastic handles, which are mainly examined under three different groups, are divided into floral, cross motive and figured. In this study, it has been tried to determine which regions of the oil lamp handles examined typologically and chronologically.
