Patentler, buluþ sahiplerinin ilgili ürünlerini belirli bir süre “üretme, kullanma, satma veya ithal etme” hakkýný saðlayan belgelerdir. Patent haklarýnýn korunmasý konusundaki yasal statü, 551 sayýlý “Patent Haklarýnýn Korunmasý Hakkýndaki Kanun Hükmünde Kararname” (KHK) ile düzenlenmiþtir. Ýlgili KHK ile Türkiye'de patent baþvurularýnýn deðerlendirilmesi yetkisi Türk Patent Enstitüsü'ne (TPE) verilmiþtir. Son yýllarda TPE ile benzer statüye sahip diðer birçok enstitü; patent verilerini Ýnternet üzerinden yayýmlaya baþlamýþtýr. Bu veritabanlarý aracýlýðýyla sunulan patent bilgileri, teknolojik geliþmelerin takip edilmesi ve sektördeki ürün deðiþimlerinin tespiti açýsýndan önemli bilgileri saðlamýþtýr. Ýlgili verilere yönelik deðiþik analizler birçok bilimsel çalýþmaya da konu olmuþtur. TPE de son dönemde patent bilgilerini içeren veritabanýný kamuya açýk hale getirmiþ (http://online.tpe.gov.tr) ve bu konuda bilimsel çalýþmalar yapýlmasý yönünde önemli kolaylýklar saðlamýþtýr. Bu çalýþmada; TPE tarafýndan tescil edilmiþ olan 2419 ulusal/uluslararasý tekstil patenti incelenerek, bu patentlerin sektörel daðýlýmlarý, yýllara göre izledikleri eðilimler ve Türkiye'de buluþunu tescil ettirmiþ olan ülkelerin durumlarý analiz edilerek sunulmuþtur.

Patents are the documents which enable owners to keep the right of “producing, using, selling and exporting “of the relevant products. The regulations on the protection of patent rights are arranged by the Decree-Law No. 551 entitled as “Pertaining to the Protection of Patent Rights”. The relevant decree-law empowers Turkish Patent Institute (TPI) for the evaluation of the applications. In recent years; the institutes similar to TPI, has started to declare the patent information via internet. The information supplied by the databases in Internet; have created important contributions to watch technological change and to trace novel products introduced into market. Thereby patent information has been issued many scientific studies. TPI has also started to publish the patent information via internet (http://online.tpe.gov.tr) and this state facilitates the scientific studies. In this study; 2419 granted textile patents are issued, their sectoral distribution, the trends by the years and the country origins of the applicants has been analyzed and presented.
