Cationic cotton and their applications

It was recently investigated to improve the dyeability and printability of cotton fabric and the wrinkle-resistance finishing process without formaldehyde by the cationization pretreatment on cotton fabric. The surface of cotton fabric which was slightly anionic nature in aquous mediums was changed çationic nature by cationisation pretreatment and thus the afinity and substantivity for anionic dyestuffs of the cotton fabric were increased. Even it is possible to provide the saving from chemical agents and to reduce the harmful on environmental due to dyeing conditions containing salt-free and neutral pH after the pretreatment. It was aim to obtain all clear textile waste water on dyeing process. In this study, we compiled these studies about cationisation of cotton fabric on the literature while it was emphasized that it was important to provide saving from chemical agent and energy as well as being environmentally-friend.
