TRANSFER PRINTING OF LAYER-BY-LAYER TiO2 AND ZnO DEPOSITED 100% COTTON FABRICS WITH DISPERSE DYES

In this study, cotton fabrics were coated with zinc oxide (ZnO) or titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanopartyicles by Layer-byLayer deposition process and they were printed by transfer printing process with sublimable disperse dyestuffs. In order to improve the printing quality and fastness properties, printed fabrics were subjected to after-treatment processes such as binder, polyelectrolyte, binder+polyelectrolyte coatings. Nano TiO2 and/or ZnO coated fabrics were analyzed and washing and rubbing fastness properties were evaluated after transfer printing. The best results were obtained especially on fabrics coated with TiO2 and treated afterwards with binder + polyelectrolyte.
