The New State of Turkey announced its existence and independence to world withLausanne Treaty and staned to abrogate old rules and institutions which led thenation10lag behind of the age. Turkish Republic abolished the Caliphate 3 March,1924 andrepercussions in domestic aııd ab road. During that time Sultan Vahdettin, who wasin an exile in San Roma, expressed his reaction with aletter written to the Presidentof U.S.A. Aftercalled the existing situatioıı as temporary, he claimed the Caliphate and Sultanatewas still exist aııd the confiscation of the propeniesand asked for his help in this issue.
