Non-Keynesian Effects of Fiscal Discipline: A Computable General Equilibrium Analysis for Turkey

By using the most recent data, the objective of this study İs to build a dynamic computable general equilibrium (CGE) model for Turkey. By employing alternative assumptions on alternative fiscal austerity measures undertaken by government, the model conducts some simulations. In regard to the possible effects of a fiscal austerity program with a varying degree of credibility, our CGE model shows that fiscal discipline with significant credibility ensures positive income effects, and all layers of the society would benefit from this outcome.
