Multimodal Model Suggestion for Transportation Applications

Every transportation mode has its own advantage based upon cost, speed, service, reliability and security. Exploiting the advantage of each transportation mode, multi mode transportation systems have begun to be used frequently today. In multimode transportation Freight or passenger is carried by at least two different modes but regarded as an integrated unique process. In this study, based on the multimode transportation, within three scenarios, three different materials are delivered by both trains and trucks in the problem, which consists of one main depot, fifteen depots and twenty nine customers. The problem is modelled as location routing problem and comparisons are made within scenarios and the actual situation.
