Bu çalışmada Simon Ros Valentine’in Islam and the Ahmadiyya Jama’at, History, Belief, Practice adlı eseri değerlendirilmiştir. Eser Ahmedîlerle ilgili yapılan az sayıdaki akademik çalışmadan biri olması yönüyle oldukça değerlidir. Çalışma Ahmedîliği erken dönemden günümüze kadar konu etmektedir. Ancak çalışmanın konusunun bu denli geniş olması eserin Ahmedîlik ile ilgili detay vermeyen “genel bir çalışma” özelliği taşımasına neden olmuştur. Ayrıca Valentine’in “sosyolog” kimliğiyle Ahmedîliği araştırması, eserin her yerinde kendisini hissettirmiştir. Zira Ahmedîliğin teorik çerçevesini dahi erişim imkânının zor olmadığı eserler üzerinden değil de Ahmedîlerle ilgili bireysel tecrübelerine dayanarak vermiştir. Bu durum da eserdeki bilgilerin oldukça sübjektif verilere dayanmasına ve eserin en önemli sınırlılıklarından birisini oluşturmasına neden olmuştur. Bu çalışmada da, on bir bölümden oluşan Islam and the Ahmadiyya Jama’at, History, Belief, Practice adlı kitabın her bölümü ayrı olarak değerlendirilmiş, en sonunda ise çalışmanın teknik açıdan bazı değerlendirmeleri yapılmıştır.

In this study, Simon Ros Valentine's work Islam and the Ahmadiyya Jama'at, History, Belief, Practice has been reviwed. The work is valuable because it is one of the few academic studies on Ahmadis. The study studies Ahmadis from the early period to the present day. However, the fact that the subject of the study is so broad has caused the work to be a "general study" that does not give details about Ahmadiyya. In addition, Valentine's research on Ahmadiyya with his “sociologist” identity made itself felt throughout the work. Because he gave the theoretical framework of Ahmadiyya based on his individual experiences with the Ahmadis, not from the works that are not difficult to access. This situation caused the information in the work to be based on highly subjective data and constitute one of the most important limitations of the work. In this study, each chapter of the book named with Islam and Ahmadiyya Jama'at, History, Belief, Practice, which consists of eleven chapters, was reviewed separately, and at the end, some technical evaluations of the study were made.
