Parlamento üyeleri, anayasa ve diğer kanunlara uygun olarak düzenlenmiş olan parlamentonun esas ve usullerinin dokunulmazlığından yararlanırlar. Bu dokunulmazlık, onun sarf ettiği sözler ve yaptığı eylemlerden sorumlu olmaması hususu ile ilgilidir. Fakat bu dokunulmazlık sınırsız değildir. Aksine uluslararası yasalara uygun olarak sınırlandırılmıştır. Devletler, parlamento üyesinin sorumluluklarının bulunduğu durumlar konusunda farklı düşünmüşlerdir. Bu çalışmada Irak parlamentosunda dokunulmazlık ile ilgili şartlar ele alınmaktadır

Members of Parliament benefit from immunity which is arranged according to the principles and procedures of parliament in accordance with the constitution and other laws of country. This immunity is related that he is not responsible from his words and actions. However, this immunity is not unlimited. On the contrary, it has been limited in accordance with international laws. States have thought differently about the responsibilities of members of parliament on situations. When we analyze 2005 Iraqi constitution and other laws, we see that the members of the National Assembly are responsible in some cases and situations. In this study, relevant requirements with immunity are discussed in the Iraqi parliament
