A Smartwatch Design with a Noval PIF Antenna for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Frequencies and Analysis on a Human Hand Modal

In the presented study, the design and electrical simulations of a noval planar inverted F antenna (PIFA) with plane ground surface supporting both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies were performed. The physical parameters of the noval antenna model were obtained for the 2.47 GHz operating frequency, and the antenna was positioned in a smartwatch with dimensions of 3cm x 3cm x 1cm. The variation of reflection coefficient due to frequency for PIFA and smartwatch was investigated and it was seen that the smartwatch model does not cause a significant change in antenna performance. Then, 2D and 3D directivity patterns are obtained and compared for three different steps of the design that is analysed on an adult human hand.
