ønsan yaúamÕnÕn temel yetilerinden biri dili kullanabilme ve konuúabilmedir. Dili kullanabilmek do÷uútan getirdi÷imiz bir yetenektir. Dil insanlarÕn düúünce,duygu, istek, deneyim vb. yaúantÕlarÕnÕ birbirlerine aktarabilmelerini sa÷lar. Genellikle çocuklar konuúmayÕ kendi aile ortamÕnda, aile bireylerinin çevreledi÷i sosyal yaúam içinde belli süreçlerden geçerek ö÷renmektedir. Yetersiz dil geliúim düzeyi çocu÷un sosyal etkileúimini olumsuz etkiledi÷i gibi, okul baúarÕsÕnÕ, zihinsel ve duygusal geliúimini de etkilemektedir. Dil; bireyin algÕlamasÕ,düúünmesi, kendini ve di÷erlerini tanÕmasÕ için temeldir ve toplumun varlÕ÷Õ için zorunludur. Çocukta dil geliúimini açÕklayan farklÕ kuramsal yaklaúÕmlar, görüúler vardÕr. Bu araútÕrmada çocukta dil geliúimini açÕklayan yaklaúÕmlar ele alÕnarak konuyla ilgili temel beceriler incelenmektedir.  

Speaking is one of the main abilities that a human brings from his birth. Speaking enables people to express their thoughts, feelings, requests and experiences. Generally, children learn speaking in their family environment and the surrounding society, by passing through some processes. Insufficient linguistic development of a child not only affects the social interaction negatively, but also affects the mental and emotional development and his/her success in the school. Linguistics is one of the fundamentals that is required for a person’s perception,thinking, and learning. There are different theoretical approaches and thoughts about the linguistic development of a child. This study investigates these approaches and main pointsabout the subject were examined.
