"Socio-demografic Questionnaire" and "A Scale for Quality of Work Life Among Nurses with 73 items " developed by the researcher were used. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.97.RESULTS: Among study participants 38.7% of the nurses aged between 30-35 years, 76.7% of them were married and 68.4% of them were working at public hospitals. Also 41.5% the study participants were working in risky units, and 67.2% of them as service nurses. Some (46.6 hours) of them were working 54 hours a week. 45% of them were practicing nursing for 10-20 years. Besides, 62.5 %of them were working in their present units for 1-5 years, and 50% of the nurses who participated in the research evaluated their quality of work life as average. Mean score of this research scale was found as as 80.98±14.30 which demonstrated that the the nurses were not fond of their work life quality. Significant differences were found between age, weekly working hours in the institution, and the unit they were assigned, and their own self-assessments for quality of work life (p<0.05) While marital status, unit they were working in, and the working position had no effect on the work life quality (p>0.05).
