The study was conducted on 63 fourth grade students in 2016- 2017 school year, in different public schools in Ankara. The study used mixed method research design. Quantitative data were obtained using an achievement test consisting of 15 multiple choice questions and an Attitude Toward Science Scale while qualitative data were obtained through open-ended questions. All statistical analyses for quantitative data were performed through SPSS v.20.0. Qualitative data were analysed using content analysis procedure. According to the results of The Wilcoxon signed-rank test children got significantly higher scores on achivement test and attitudes toward science scale.
