ГЛОБАЛЬНЫЙ ГОЛОД – ПРОБЛЕМА СОВРЕМЕННОСТИ

The concept of «global problem» as a commonly accepted term appeared in the 70s of the twentieth century, after the first report of the Rome Club published in 1972 under the heading «Growth limits» Nowadays everybody knows that the word «global» came from French word «global» which means «universal» in Russian. Mankind’s global problems are the problems covering the entire world and it is the menace of mankind’s future. The solution of these problems is the consolidation of all countries’ efforts over the world. From this point of view, food problem plays the most significant part among other global problems of mankind which has a huge areal limits and leads to irreversible consequences. According to the Global food famine index drawn up by the International Food Policy Research Institute the highest level of famine was recorded in African countries located in the south of Sahara and South Asia. In the former Soviet Union countries famine rates are relatively low, the average level of malnutrition is observed in Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. The top ten countries with the worst indicators include such countries as Burundi, Eritrea, Chad, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Haiti, Comoros, Madagascar and the Central African Republic.
