There are a lot of non-muslim musical society that is built around templessuch as especially churches and synagogues in the last period of the OttomanEmpire. These societies were established to teach their national music to thecongregations in a more comfortable and free environment. The board of directorsand teachers consist of usually beadles or the competent musikişinas in congregation. These associations and societies that initially their only objective is music education,have launched a secret organization activities during the war years. Manyassociations an societies that work for the Greek and Bulgarian state’s propagandahave had to close its doors after years of national struggle.
