Bu çalışmada, masif ağaç malzeme ve ağaç esaslı kompozit malzemelerden hazırlanan kutu konstrüksiyonlu mobilya dişli köşe birleştirmelerin eğilme dirençleri karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu maksatla; Doğu kayını (Fagus orientalis Lipsky), sarıçam (Pinus sylvestris Lipsky) ve kavak (Populus x eureamericana) ağaç malzemeler ile okume (Aucoumea klaineana), kavak (Populus x eureamericana) kontrplaklar ve orta yoğunlukta lif levha (MDF) kullanılmıştır. Her malzemeden 10 adet olmak üzere, hazırlanan deney örneklerine ASTM D 143 – 83’ de esaslarına uyularak statik diyagonal çekme ve basınç deneyleri uygulanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, eğilme direnci en yüksek okume kontrplakta, en düşük sırasıyla masif çam ve kavakta elde edilmiştir. Buna göre; kutu konstrüksiyonlu mobilya üretiminde ağaç esaslı kompozit malzemelerin kullanılması teknik ve ekonomik bakımdan önerilebilir.

In this study, bending strength of the through – dovetail corner joints with the case construction of furniture prepared from solid wood and wood based composite materials have been compared. For this purpose, oriental beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky), pine (Pinus sylvestris Lipsky) and poplar (Populus x eureamericana) were used as the solid wood materials, okoume (Aucoumea klaineana) plywood, poplar (Populus x eureamericana) plywood and medium density fiberboard (MDF) were used as the wood based composite materials. Static diagonal tension and compression tests have been applied to the specimens which are prepared for 10 replications from each material groups according to principles of ASTM D 143 – 83. As a result, the highest bending strength have been obtained with okoume plywood, while the lowest bending strength values have been obtained with solid pine and poplar, respectively. It can be recommended that using the wood based composite materials in production of case furniture in terms of technical and echonomical factors
