CONTEMPORARY PRACTICES OF RENEWABLE ENERGIES IN THE LANDSCAPES

Natural resources and living spaces are rapidly consumed by economy-based policies. The ecological destructions caused by this consumption, especially the climate crisis, cause serious concerns on individuals. The purpose of this study is not to perpetuate these concerns, but to underline the pioneering role of landscape architecture in solving these concerns, to look at renewable energies with a production-oriented perspective, to keep the issue of self-sufficient landscapes alive on the landscape architecture agenda. In this context, some examples from the world have been compiled under three categories: energy fields, energy production landscapes, and point energy production landscapes. The examples show that the ecologically correct and effective use of renewable energy sources creates not only economic but also ecological, sociological, cultural and artistic benefits and opportunities.
