Lise Birinci Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Okula Bağlılık (School Engagement) Durumlarına ilişkin Öğrenci,Öğretmen ve Yöneticilerin Görüşleri

Bu araştırmanın amacı kamu liselerinde öğrenim gören lise birinci sınıf öğrencilerinin okula bağlılık durumlarına ilişkin öğrenci, öğretmen ve yöneticilerin görüşlerini incelemektir. Bu araştırmanın örneklemini, Ankara ili merkez ilçelerinde 2005-2006 eğitim-öğretim yılında öğrenim gören, tabakalı örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilmiş 408 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Öğrencilerin okul bağlılığı durumlarına ilişkin görüşlerinin, öğrencilerin cinsiyetine göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğine ilişkisiz t-testi ile, anne ve babalarının eğitim durumuna ve ailenin gelir durumuna göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğine tek yönlü ANOVA (One-way ANOVA) ile bakılmıştır. Kız öğrencilerin okula bağlılıkları erkek öğrencilere göre yüksek bulunmuştur. Annesinin eğitim durumu ve ailenin gelir durumu düşük olan öğrencilerin okula bağlılıkları, annesinin eğitim durumu ve ailesinin gelir durumu daha yüksek durumda olan öğrencilere göre daha yüksektir. Öğrencilerin okul bağlılığı görüşleri ile babalarının eğitim durumu arasında anlamlı bir fark yoktur. Hem öğretmenler hem de yöneticiler, öğrencilerin okul bağlılığını azaltan nedenlere ilişkin olarak öğretmenden kaynaklanan nedenleri, yönetimden kaynaklanan nedenlere göre daha yüksek düzeyde algılamaktadırlar.

Students’, Teachers’ and Administrators’ Opinions About Freshman High School Students’ Engagement

The purpose of this study is to investigate opinions of students, teachers and administrators on freshman high school studens’ school engagement. The sample of the study consisted of 408 students, chosen via stratified-sampling method, progress their high school education in Ankara province during 2005- 2006 academic year. Whether students’ engagement is related with their gender, was investigated with t-test, and families’educational level and income level are investigated with One-way of Anova. The opinion of teachers and administors on decreasing factors of student engagement was analysed by t-test. Results revealed that female students’ engagement level are higher than that of boys. The students whose mothers’ educational level and whose families’ income level is higher are more engaged. No any relation was found between fathers’ educational level and student engagement. Both teachers and administrators were perceived ‘teacher based factors’ as the most influential factors decreasing student engagement.
