Covid-19 Sürecinde Kompulsif Satın Alma ve Ruhsal Travma Belirtilerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı pandemi sürecinde kompulsif satın alma ile ruhsal travma belirtilerini değerlendirerek aralarındaki ilişkiyi belirlemektir. Gereç-Yöntem: Araştırmada veriler Haziran-Kasım 2020 tarihleri arasında araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 348 tüketiciden çevrimiçi anket yöntemiyle toplanmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında, Katılımcı Bilgi Formu, Kompulsif Satın Alma Ölçeği (KSAÖ) ve DSM-5 için Travma Sonrası Stres Bozukluğu Kontrol Listesi Ölçeği (TSSBKLÖ) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler yanında normal dağılan verilerde, iki ortalama arasındaki farkın anlamlılık testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Normal dağılmayan verilerde Mann - Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis analizleri kullanılmıştır. Ölçekler arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesinde Spearman korelasyon testi kullanılmıştır. Tüketicilerin kompulsif satınalma ölçeğinin yordayıcılarını değerlendirmek için Multiple linear regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Tüketicilerin %44,3’ü 18-24 yaş aralığında, %67,2’si kadın ve %60,1’i bekârdır.

Evaluation of the Compulsive Buying and Psychological Trauma Symptoms during Covid-19

Objective: The main purpose of this research is to evaluate and determine the relation between compulsive buying and psychological trauma symptoms during the pandemic. Material and Methods: Data were collected from 348 consumers who agreed to participate in the research between June and November 2020 by online survey method. The Participant Information Form, the Compulsive Buying Scale, and the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Checklist Scale for the DSM-5 were used to collect data. In the analysis of the data, in addition to descriptive statistics, the test of significance of the difference between two means and one-way analysis of variance -ANOVA- were used in normally distributed data. In order to analyze differences between non-normally distributed data Mann - Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis used. Spearman correlation test was used to determine the relationship between the scales. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to evaluate the predictors of consumers' compulsive buying scale. Results: 44.3% of consumers are in the 18-24 age range, 67.2% are women and 60.1% are single. It was determined that the consumers' total mean score of compulsive buying was 23.30±7.74, and the mean total score of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Checklist Scale was 33.95±17.06. According to the results of the correlation analysis, a moderate positive correlation was found between the compulsive buying scale and Traumatic Stress Disorder Checklist Scale in consumers. According to the results of the multiple linear regression analysis, it is seen that the most important sub-variable in terms of its relative effects on compulsive buying is shopping to cope with stress. Conclusion: It has been determined that consumers who exhibit compulsive buying behavior during the Covid-19 pandemic period show signs of post-traumatic stress. It can be said that women try to get rid of the negative situations, emotions, and stress they are exposed to by exhibiting compulsive buying behavior compared to men.
