İslam felsefesinde, insan nefsi ve yetilerine yönelik tartışmalarda, rüya olgusu, önemli bir yer tutmaktadır ve geleceği önceden görmenin aracı olarak kabul edilmektedir. Zira İslam filozoflarının önemli bir bölümü, Yeni Platoncu öncüleri gibi, rüyaları insan nefsi ve etkin akılla ilişkilendirmekte ve onların geleceğe ilişkin işaretler içerdiğini düşünmektedirler. Bu yüzden, geçmişten günümüze, İslam düşünce geleneğinde rüya yorumu önemli bir rol üstlenmiştir. Biz bu makalede, rüya kavramına eleştirel açıdan yaklaşarak, İslam felsefe geleneğinde rüyanın ne anlama geldiğini, ona yüklenen işlevleri ve modern İslam toplumları üzerindeki yansımalarının neler olduğunu çözümlemeyi amaçlamaktayız.

The discussion of human soul and its faculties, in Islamic philosophy, the dream (rü’yâ), occupies a highly important position to foresee about the future. Most of the Muslim philosophers agreed that the dreams had relations with human soul and active intellect and dreams consist of sings of future events as did their New Platonian predecessors.. Hence, in Islamic tradition, from past to today, interpretation of dreams have had an important role. In this article, we approach the concept of ‘dream’ from a critical context and aim to analyze, what is the meaning of dream and nature and its functions in Muslim philosophical tradition and what is their impact on modern Islamic societies.
