Fen Bilgisi Öğretmen Adaylarının Fen Öğretimine Yönelik Zihinsel Modelleri, Öz Yeterlik İnançları ve Öğrenme Yaklaşımları

Bu çalışmanın amacı, fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının fen öğretimine yönelik zihinsel modellerini sınıf düzeyine göre tespit etmek ve fen öğretimine yönelik zihinsel modelleri ile fen öğretimine yönelik öz yeterlikleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişkinin olup olmadığını belirlemektir. Çalışmanın bir diğer amacı ise fen öğretimine yönelik zihinsel modellerin ve öğrenme yaklaşımlarının, fen öğretimine yönelik öz yeterlikleri ne düzeyde yordadığını tespit etmektir. İlişkisel tarama yönteminin kullanıldığı bu araştırmanın örneklemini Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Fen Bilgisi Eğitimi programında öğrenim gören 262 fen bilgisi öğretmen adayı oluşturmuştur. Öğretmen adaylarının 43’ü birinci, 78’i ikinci, 79’u üçüncü ve 62’si dördüncü sınıf öğrencisidir. Öğretmen adaylarının fen öğretimine yönelik öz-yeterlikleri  “Fen Bilgisi Öğretimine Yönelik Öz-yeterlik İnancı Ölçeği” ile öğrenme yaklaşımları "Öğrenme Yaklaşımları Ölçeği" ile ve zihinsel modelleri "Fen Öğretmeni Çizim Testi-Kontrol Listesi" ile belirlenmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarının çizim testinden aldıkları puanların ortalamasına göre inançları öğretmen merkezli ve öğrenci merkezli öğretim modelinin arasında geçiş aşamasında belirlenmiştir. Sınıf düzeyi ilerledikçe fen öğretimiyle ilgili inançların öğretmen merkezli öğretimden, öğrenci merkezli bir öğretime doğru değiştiği görülmektedir. Hem Fen Öğretiminde Kişisel Öz-yeterlik İnancı faktörü için hem de Fen Öğretiminde Sonuç Beklentisi faktörü için, fen öğretimine yönelik öz yeterlikleri öğretmen merkezli öğretim modelinden öğrenci merkezli öğretim modeline geçtikçe artmaktadır. Öğretmen adaylarının öz-yeterlikleri, zihinsel modelleri ve öğrenme yaklaşımları arasındaki ilişki alt boyutları dikkate alınarak tartışılmış, önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
