Son 20 yılda yasanan muhasebe skandalları, toplum üzerinde, sirketlere olan güvenin sorgulanmasına yol açmıstır. Toplumun ve özellikle ticari hayatın, saglıklı ve etkin isleyebilmesi, “güven” unsuruna baglıdır. Güven ise ticari faaliyetlere iliskin islem ve kayıtların, uygulayıcılar tarafından, yürürlükteki mevzuata uygun yerine getirilmesi, ekonomi ve teknolojide meydana gelen degismelere baglı olarak, yürürlükteki mevzuat düzenleyicilerinin güncellemesi ve bagımsız denetimin etkin olarak yürütülmesi ile mümkün olabilecektir. Son asama ise, sirket ve çevresi arasında, saglıklı bir iletisimin kurulabilmesi için, sirket bünyesinde üretilen önemli bilginin, anında ve sürekli paylasılmasıdır. Çalısmada, kamunun aydınlatılması ilkesi kapsamında, rasyonel karar verme sürecinde, sirket çevresine sunulan bilgilerin niteligi ve ihtiyaç duyulan bilginin özellikleri İMKB’ye kayıtlı sirketler kapsamında tespit edilmektedir.
