1979’dan itibaren düzenlenmeye başlanan Türkiye Muhasebe Eğitimi Sempozyumlarının amacı, muhasebe eğitimi yapan kurumlar arasında koordinasyonun sağlanması ve eğitimde karşılaşılan so-runların tartışılmasıdır. Muhasebe Eğitimi Sempozyumlarında tartışılan konular, tarihi süreç içersinde gözden geçirildiğinde, Türkiye’de akademik çalışmaları etkileyen muhasebe ile ilgili olayların biyografisi ortaya çıkmaktadır. 1979-2005 Yılları arasında yapılan sempozyumların sayısı yirmi dörttür. Sempozyumlar daha çok bahar aylarında Güney Anadolu’nun turistik beldelerinde yapılmıştır. Ankara ve Eskişehir bir yana bırakılırsa, sempozyumların Marmara Bölgesi ve Ege Bölgesi’nde yer alan üniver-siteler tarafından yapıldığı gözlenmektedir. Öte yandan, sempozyum konularının değişen ekonomik koşullara uyum sağlama çabası içindeki muhasebe eğitiminin gündemini izleyebildiğini söylemek olanağı vardır.

The aim of the Turkish Accounting Education Symposiums which have been organized since 1979 is to provide the coordination among the associations giving accounting education and to discuss the problems of accounting education. In the overview of the history of the topics discussed in the Turkish Accounting Symposiums, the biography of the cases which affected the academic studies in Turkey is generated. The symposiums took place during 1979-2005 have reached to twenty four in number. The symposiums were mostly held in spring in the south cost of the Anatolia. Excluding Eskisehir and Ankara, it is observed that the symposiums were organized by the universities of Marmara and Ege Regions. On the other hand, we can claim that the symposiums could have kept track of the recent developments occurred in accounting education for the purpose to adapt the changing conditions of the economy.
