DEVRİM ve DEĞİŞİMİ ANLAMAYA YÖNELİK BİR YÖNTEM: TARİHSEL SOSYOLOJİ

Tarihsel gerçekleri sosyolojinin temel kavramları ve hayal gücüyle yorumlama amacında olan tarihsel sosyolojinin bir yöntem olarak en çok yaralanıldığı konular dönüşüm ve özelikle de devrimlerdir. 1960’lardan sonra özellikle bu yöntemi benimseyerek geçmişte gerçekleşmiş dönüşümler üzerinde araştırma yapan tarihçi ve sosyologların sayısında önemli artış olmuştur. Çağdaş kurum ve uygulamaları anlamanın en tutarlı yolunun bunları yaratan nedenlere karşılaştırmalı olarak bakmanın daha anlamlı olacağı, değişik örneklerle ve özellikle Barrington Moore örneğinde vurgulanmıştır.
