Rowan Williams’ın Şeriat Söylemi Bağlamında Anglikan Kilisesi’nin Teoloji Krizi

Bu makalede, Anglikan Kilisesi’nin günümüzde yüzyüze olduğu teoloji krizi, Canterbury Başpiskoposu Rowan Williams’ın şeriat söylemi bağlamında ele alınmaktadır. Sözü edilen krizin kaynağı, Anglikanizm’in erken dönemlerinde tesis edilen via media metoduna dayanmaktadır.

In this paper, the theology crisis that Anglican Church confronted is discussed in the context of sharia discourse of Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury. The main reason of this crisis stems from the via media method that is developed in the early ages of Anglicanism. Recently, the Anglican tradition based on this theological method, which lies in between Catholicism and Protestantism, struggles with internal and external issues. The Anglican Church attracted attention with the recent discourse of Williams about the Islamic law. This discourse mainly concerns the Muslim communities in the UK and mentions that the inclusion of certain rules from the Islamic law is unavoidable in the British legal system. Even though this approach appears to be fostering multiculturalism, it also aims to recover and strengthen the traditional position of the Anglican Church in the society.
