Dünya ve Türkiye Meyve Üretimindeki Gelişmelerin İncelenmesi

Bu çalışmada, 1961-2004 döneminde dünya ve Türkiye meyve üretimindeki gelişmeler incelenmiş ve Türkiye’nin meyve üretiminde dünyadaki yeri ve önemi ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışma kapsamına üretim potansiyeli açısından önemlilik gösteren 22 meyve türü dahil edilmiştir. Araştırma konusu meyvelerin dönem boyunca dünya üretim alanı ve üretim miktarlarında önemli artışlar gerçekleşmiştir. Türkiye’de ise meyve üretim alanları türler itibariyle farklılık göstermekle birlikte aynı düzeyde seyretmiş ancak verimden kaynaklanan üretim artışları söz konusu olmuştur. Türkiye’de meyve veriminde kaydedilen artışlar dünya ortalamasının üzerinde gerçekleşmiştir. Türkiye özellikle fındık, ayva, incir, kayısı ve kiraz gibi meyvelerde sahip olduğu üretim miktarı ile dünyada söz sahibi üretici ülke konumundadır

An Assessment of Developments in Fruit Production in the World and Turkey

In this paper, developments in the world and Turkish fresh fruit production have been examined for the 1961-2004 period. Turkey’s contribution to the world fresh fruit production and its importance was explored. Significant 22 fruit species were included in the context of the study. Fresh fruit planted areas and production have increased significantly in the world during the period examined. During this period, fruit planted areas showed no significant changes in Turkey although there are differences depending on the fruit species. However, yield increases recorded in Turkey during the same period are higher than the world averages. Turkey is a leading country with its fruit production and potential in the world, particularly in hazelnut, quince, fig, apricot and cherry.
