Surgical treatment in type III acromioclavicular dislocation

Surgery is a greatly acceptable treatment choice in type III acromioclavicular (AC) dislocation. There are many surgical treatment techniques. Four different surgical treatment techniques which were applied to 23 type III AC dislocations at three different centres were evaluated retrospectively. Reduction was achieved by Bosworth technique in 3 cases, by Weaver-Dunn in 5 cases, by Phemisther in 7 cases, by Nevasier technique in 8 cases. Excellent and good results were obtained in 91.3 percent and fair results were obtained in 8.7 percent of the cases. No significant priorities were found in above mentioned techniques.
