Yeni doğan epidural hematomu: Nadir bir olgu sunumu

Yeni doğan travmatik epidural hematomları EDH oldukça nadir karşılaşılan bir patolojidir. Tüm pediatrik kafa travmaları içinde % 2-3 sıklığında görülür. Yeni doğan EDH'unun etiyolojisinde en sık baş-pelvis uygunsuzluğu ile doğum esnasında kullanılan eksternal fiksatörler suçlanılmaktadır. Tedavi seçeneği kanama mekanizmasına bağlı olarak konservatif ve/veya cerrahi olabilir. Ancak literatürde pediatrik yaş grubunda, özellikle de yeni doğanlarda gözlenen EDH tedavi seçeneği ile ilgili kesinleşmiş protokol mevcut değildir. Sefal hematom ile danışılan yeni doğan olgumuzda radyolojik incelemede EDH tespit edildi. Nadir görülen bu olguda takip ve tedavi stratejimiz literatür eşliğinde tartışılarak sunulmuştur.

Newborn epidural hematoma: A rare case report

Traumatic epidural hematoma of the newborn is a quite rare pathology. Prevalence is %2-3 in all pediatric head trauma. The most common etiology of new-born epidural hematoma is cephalo-pelvic disproportion during labor with the use of external fixers. The treatment of choice depending on the mechanism of bleeding may be conservative and / or surgery. However, a definitive protocol in the pediatric age group, especially for newborns has not been established yet. Radiological examination of the newborn consulted with cephal hematoma revealed EDH in the present case. Herein we present the rare case of EDH in the newborn with a short review of the literature
