THE MORAL ARGUMENT, MORAL DISAGREEMENTS AND THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION

Moral arguments are arguments which try to show the existence of God from some feature of morality. In the first part of our paper I argue that, various types of moral arguments assume moral realism. In the rest of the paper I analyze the objections based on the moral disagreements of different cultures and theory of evolution against moral realism, hence against moral argument. We try to show via analogy with mathematics and natural sciences that moral disagreements cannot be used against objectivity, besides we also try to show that moral disagreements are expected given moral realism. Evolutionary objection on the other hand I argue that begs the question against the moral argument by assuming naturalism, besides it is applicable to science and hence is self-refuting
