AYDIN İLİ KETEM’DEN TOPLANAN VAGİNAL ÖRNEKLERDE GARDNERELLA VAGINALIS’IN İZOLASYON, İDENTİFİKASYON VE ANTİBİYOTİKLERE DUYARLILIKLARININ İNCELENMESİ

AMAÇ: Bu çalışmada, KETEM/Aydın’dan elde edilen vaji-nal örneklerden G. vaginalis’in identifikasyonu ve yaygın olarak kullanılan antibiyotiklere karşı dirençliliklerinin saptanması amaçlanmıştır. YÖNTEMLER: Araştırmamızda 220 adet vajinal svap ör-neği kullanılmıştır. Antibiyotik duyarlılık testlerinde met-ronidazol, tetrasiklin, eritromisin, amoksisilin/klavulanik asit, doksisiklin, kolistin, klindamisin ve penisilin diskleri kullanılmıştır. BULGULAR: Araştırmada 26 (%12) adet G. vaginalis izole ve identifiye edilmiştir. Antibiyotik duyarlılık testleri so-nucunda 26 suşun tamamı metronidazol, kolistin ve peni-siline karşı tam dirençli (%100), tetrasikline 20 suş duyarlı (%77), 2 suş orta düzey duyarlı (%8), 4 suş dirençli (%15), eritromisine 8 suş duyarlı (%31), 18 suş orta düzey duyarlı (%69), amoksisilin/klavulanik asite 16 suş duyarlı (%62), 6 suş orta düzey duyarlı (%23), 4 suş dirençli (%15) , dok-sisikline 24 suş duyarlı (%92), 2 suş dirençli (%8), klinda-misine ise 14 suş duyarlı (%54), 10 suş orta düzey duyarlı (%38), 2 suş dirençli (%8) olarak tespit edilmiştir. SONUÇLAR: Çalışmada, G. vaginalis’in vajinal svap alına-rak kültür yöntemi ile tespitinin yapılması ve identifiye edilen bakterilerin antibiyotik duyarlılık testleri yapıldık-tan sonra tedavi uygulanmasının gerekliliği ortaya kon-muştur.

INVESTIGATION OF ANTIBIOTIC SENSIVITY, ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF GARDNERELLA VAGINALIS COLLECTED FROM KETEM/AYDIN PROVINCE

OBJECTIVE: In this study, identification of G. vagina-lis that is reproduced in vaginal samples obtained from KETEM/Aydın and evaluation of their resistance to com-monly used antibiotics were aimed. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In the experiment, 220 va-ginal swab samples were used. Antibiotic suspectibility tests were performed by antibiotic discs that contain eit-her of metronidazole, tetracycline, erythromycin, amoxi-cillin/clavulanic acid, doxycycline, colistin, clindamycine, and Penicillin. RESULTS: In this study, 26 (12%) G. vaginalis strains were isolated and identified from 220 vaginal swab samples. Results showed that all the strains are resistant to metro-nidazole, colistin and penicillin; while 20 of them (77%) susceptible, 2 of them (8 %) moderately susceptible, 4 of them (15%) resistant to tetracycline. 8 strains (31%) were found susceptible to erythromycin, as 18 of them (69%) were moderately susceptible. Resistance to amoxicillin/ clavulanic acid, doxycycline and clindamycine were seen 4 (15%), 2 (8%) and 2 (8%) strains, respectively. Suscepti-bility to same antibiotics occurred in 16 (62%), 24 (92%) and 14 (54%) strains, respectively. Moderately susceptib-le strains to amoxicillin/clavulanic acid and clindamycine were 6 and 10 respectively. CONCLUSION: In this study, necessity for determination of G. vaginalis strain with culture method by taking va-ginal swab and administering treatment after antibiotic susceptibility tests of identified bacteria is propounded.
