Employment and unemployment are major parts of economic and social policies. In this sense, almost all of the societies at least have difficulties to solve economic and social problems since 1970’s. The model, based on political stability, economic growth, full employment, welfare payments and national solidarity, has been changed radically in the last thirty years. Without forgetting this change, basic preferences of successful national employment policies of developed countries are evaluated and particularly flexibility approach and its impact on employment are discussed in this paper. In this context, flexibility approach and its impact on employment is discussed in four sub-titles which are flexible employment, wage flexibility, flexibility of employment protection and flexibility of social security.
