Tavuk Kültür, Yumurta Genom

.Bizi insan yapan nedir?

Chicken is Culture, Egg is Genome

What makes us human? This subjective question has fascinated the scientists and philosophers alike, probably ever since humans have the mental ability to ask this particular question. The ways in which we discuss this question has changed over time as well, molded by historical, ethical and, maybe more importantly, epistemological dynamics. So far, the dichotomy between human culture and biology has dominated the discussion. However, often unexpected findings from novel genomic technologies with regards to human nature, variation and origins have now painted a new and more interlaced picture of human culture and biology. In this paper, I will try to summarize some of the contemporary perspectives that have been influencing my thinking with regards to complex relationships between human cultures and genomes.
