Türkiye'de hemşirelik eğitimi tarihi cumhuriyet döneminden bu yana farklılıklar göstermiştir. Cumhuriyet'in ilk yıllarında hemşirelik eğitimi ilkokul eğitiminden sonra ortaokul düzeyindeki okullarda başlamıştır.Günümüzde üniversite mezunları hemşireler ve lise mezunu hemşirelerin olması mesleğin profesyonel bilimsel bir meslek mi yoksa beceri ve el yordamı ile yapılan bir iş olup olmadığına yönelik çeşitli tartışmalara ve önyargılara neden olmuştur. Bu çalışmada bu tartışmalara ve önyargılara en az sesi çıkan Sağlık Meslek Lisesi mezunu hemşirelerin gözünden bakabilmek için derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır.

This paper aims to examine the reasons for studying at vocational nursing schools. The scope will be basically on the basis of representing different family backgrounds, boarding school experiences and education. Various educational levels and nursing titles causes a disturbance in the apprehension of understanding care and scientific profession in nursing. During the early years of the Republic secondary school level and vocational nursing school graduate nurses were educated in nursing schools. Recently, an increasing number of university graduates and the continuing existence of vocational high school graduates cause various debates and prejudice. One of the major debates is whether professionalism in nursing is related to higher education or is it gained through experience and menial skills. In this framework, this paper aims to listen to vocational school graduate nurses via indepth interviews.
