Richard Leonhard’ın “Galatya’da Kızılbaşlar” Başlıklı Gözlem-Değerlendirmelerinin Analizi ve Osmanlıca Transkripsiyonu

Kızılbaş/Alevîler, 19. yüzyılın ikinci yarısından itibaren Anadolu’daki Batılı misyoner, gezgin, bilim insanı ve resmî görevlilerin ilgisini çekti. Bu ilgi sonucu kaleme aldıkları inceleme ve değerlendirmelerinde ise söz konusu topluluklar hakkında detaylı bir yazın ortaya koydular. Oluşturulan bu yazının içeriği ise daha çok doğrudan gözlemler ve birbirlerine atıfla meydana getirdikleri zengin bir referans sistemine sahipti. Süleymaniye Kütüphanesi Yazma Eser Kütüphanesi’nde bulunan “Galatya’da Kızılbaşlar” başlıklı Osmanlıca el yazması da bu çalışmalardandır. Bu bakımdan ilk etapta, günümüze değin araştırmacıların dikkatini çekmeyen ve yazarı belirtilmeyen mezkûr el yazmasının muhteva itibarıyla Batılı bir kalemden çıktığı anlaşılmaktadır. Gerçekleştirilen incelemelerle birlikte yazmanın, Alman coğrafyacı Richard Leonhard’ın 1910’lerin başında Anadolu’da düzenlediği gezileri sonucu 1915 yılında kaleme aldığı Paphlagonia: Reisen und Forschungen im Nördlichen Kleinasienbaşlıklı kitabından istinsâh edilen “Ethnographische Beobachtungen” başlıklı bölümün “Die Kyzylbasches in Galatien” başlıklı alt kısmına ait olduğu tespit edildi. Çalışmanın, diğer Batılı kaynaklarla örtüşen ve onlardan beslendiği hususlarının olmasıyla beraber doğrudan Kızılbaş/Alevîler içerisindeki gözlemlere dayanıyor olması ona özgün bir karakter kazandırmaktadır. Bu ayrıcalıklı özelliğinden ötürü de incelenmeye değerdir. Bu makalede öncelikle Leonhard’ın adı geçen çalışmasının Almanca ve Osmanlıca metinleri arasında mukayese yapılarak teknik ve muhteva analizine girişilmiş, akabindeyse metnin Osmanlıca çevirisi olduğu gibi okurunun bilgisine sunulmuştur.

An Analysis of Richard Leonhard’s Observations-Evaluations Titled “ The Kizilbashes in Galatia” and Transcription of the Text

Since the second half of the 19th century, the Kizilbash/Alevîs have attracted the attention of several Western missionaries, travelers, scholars and officials in Anatolia and they have produced a detailed and massive literature on Kizilbash/Alevîs as essays and analyses. The literature in question includes direct observations that they have made as well as rich references to one another’s writings. One of those studies carried out by the Westerners is a manuscript titled “Kizilbashes in Galatya” written in Ottoman language and housed in Süleymaniye Manuscript Library. In this regard, first, its content shows that the text was written by a Western scholar. Further research confirmed that the manuscript belonged to “Die Kyzylbasches in Galatien”, a chapter of the book named “Ethnographische Beobachtungen” that was copied from the book called Paphlagonia: Reisen und Forschungen im Nördlichen Kleinasien written in 1915 by Richard Leonhard, a German geographer, following his travel in Anatolia in 1910s. While the study of Leonhard has subjects overlapping and feeding from the Western sources, that it is based on the direct observations within Kizilbash/Alevî communities makes it an authentic work. Due to this particular feature and its authenticity, the manuscript is worth studying. In this paper, first, a technical and content analysis of German and Ottoman versions of the Leonhard’s aforementioned work is made comparatively and following this, a translation of the text in Ottoman language into Turkish is presented to the reader.
