İç içe geçmiş tarihler Occident adlı yarış atı ve fotoğraf teknolojilerinin gelişiminde kritik kesişmeler

Özet: Bu yazıda, teknolojik keşiflerin iç içe geçmiş tarihlerine değinmek amacıyla haber fotoğrafı sektöründe son dönemde gerçekleşen dijitale geçiş süreci ile ilk za-man-mekân fotoğrafları (Eadward Muybridge'in Horse in Motion [1872] adlı dizisi) birlikte ele alınacaktır.

Abstract: This paper discusses the recent digitalization of the news photography industry in tandem with the production of the first time-motion photographs (Eadward Muybridge's Horse in Motion (1872) to underscore entangled histories of technological innovation. I argue that "thick descriptions" of technological changes require one to consider intricately entangled histories. In my own field - the history of technologies of photographic representation -1 argue that there is much to be gained in writing and teaching entangled histories of representation, communication, transportation, violence and the flow of capital. This method allows one to analyze the changes in perceptions in time and space that several technological innovations contribute to simultaneously and better illustrate the connections between histories of technologies and changes in what is imaginable at any given moment.
