Holosen Koşullarının İnsan ve Kültürler Üzerindeki Etkisi Nasıl Değerlendirilmeli? Antropolojik Bir Düşünme Denemesi

Bu yazı paleo-bilimcilerin ve doğa bilimcilerin özellikle Holosen dönemdeki iklim de- ğişmeleri ve ekolojik değişmelerin siyasal ve kültürel değişmeler üzerinde tek-yönlü belirleyiciliği olduğunu öne süren determinist ve sosyobiyolojist (kimi yerde Malthus'çu) çalışmaları- nın temelli bir eleştirisine yönelmiştir. Bunun üzerinden ne bu türden determinizmin ne de kültür tarihine sızmış -terk edilmiş sanılan- evrimciliğin, insanı ve ürünlerini anlamak bakı- mından yeterli olamayacağını, özellikle Neolitik gelişmeler üzerinden ortaya koymaya çalış- makta ve Bourdieu'nün habitus kavramının bu anlama çabasında nasıl kullanılabileceğini araştırmaktadır.

How Should the Effect of Holocene Conditions on Humans and Cultures Be Evaluated? An Attempt at Anthropological Thinking

This article is a fundamental critique on deterministic and sociobiological (and at times Malthusian) works of paleo-scientists and natural scientists, which argue that climatic and ecological changes in the Holocene epoch had a one-way causal effect on political and cultural changes. Based on this, the article seeks to reveal by referring particularly to Neolithic developments that neither such determinism nor evolutionism, which is believed to be long abandoned but has permeated into cultural history, is sufficient to understand humans and their products and investigates how Bourdieu's habitus can be utilized within this context.
