The Mediating Role of Forgiveness in the Relationship between Coping Humor and Mental Well-being

The aim of this study is to examine mediating role of forgiveness in the relationship between coping humor and mental well-being. Participant were 336 university students (202 females and 134 males). The mediation role of forgiveness was tested using the two-step structural equation analysis procedure. The results showed that forgiveness partially mediated the relationship between coping humor and mental well-being (χ2/df = 1.84, CFI = .97, IFI = .97, GFI = .97, AGFI = .95, RMSEA = .05, and SRMR = .035). The indirect role involving forgiveness as the predictor was statistically significant.
