As under the Selcuqis muslim scholars and especially theologians hadauspices of the rulers, so did they under the Artuqs, among whom Sayfuddin al-Amidîwas the well-known one. The unique way that made theologians prominent to therulers was their effort to fut forward the basics of Islam on the one hand and to defendthem against heredox sects on the other. The following piece of writing dealt withthese efforts and their representatives especially Sayfuddin al-Amidî.
