Zencefil (Zingiber officinale)’in Gökkuşağı Alabalıklarında (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum) İmmunostimulant ve Büyüme Destekleyici Olarak Kullanımı

The Use of Ginger Powder (Zingiber officinale) as Immunostimulant and Growth Promoter in Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum)

In this study, the effect of ginger (Zingiber officinale) root powder, which is easy to obtain and cheap, on nonspecific defense mechanisms in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) was investigated. In the study, firstly feeding of fish with ginger added feeds, then creating an infection in fish fed with ginger added a feed, blood parameters as an indicator of nonspecific immune system and growth parameters in the experimental groups were investigated. The ginger root powder was added to the test feeds at 0.0 - 0.5 - 1.0 - 2.5 - 5.0 - 10.0 and 20.0 g / kg. Rainbow trout (O. mykiss) having 108.7 ± 17 g of initial weights were used. The biometric measurements were done and the blood parameters were determined in each group after feeding 7, 15, 25, 40 and 60 days respectively. The infection experiment was conducted during the 15 days with experiment feeds mixed by 0.0 - 0.5 - 1.0 - 2.5 - 5.0 - 10.0 and 20.0 g/kg and infection of Yersinia ruckeri was created. The infection experiments lasted for 35 days. As a result, the use of ginger in trout has a positive effect on growth and immunity and It has been determined that the use of ginger at a rate of 1.0 - 5.0 g/kg for 7 days; 2.5 g/kg for 15 and 25 days 0.5 - 2.5 g/kg for 40 and 60 days may be recommended for trout farmers.
